Atrial Septal defect
Atrial Septal defect is a type of hole in the heart, and is a form of congenital heart disease. These holes can cause enlargement of the heart, breathlessness and rhythm disturbances. For divers they can also cause decompression illness. A majority of these holes can be closed using a keyhole technique. Dr Turner performs the majority of ASD closures in adults in the South West of England and for some patients from South Wales.
